The actinic keratosis is a precancerous lesion. It is a skin lesion common in elderly subjects (the bald head, face, back of hands ...), it is directly related to the accumulation of sunlight over the years. It appears as a thickening of the skin. It's rough and more or less dark. It can sometimes become malignant and it is better to remove it (cryotherapy, laser).

Do not expose children to the sun, especially before one to two years. For everyone: avoid the sun at midday, between 12 and 16 hours (hours of sun: 10 am - 14 hours). Most important: do not get sunburn. The white skinned people with many moles, which have been exposed to sun during childhood, should be followed closely, more so if there is skin cancer in their family history.

Beware of creams that are very protective. Clothes are the best protection, the most effective against the sun. Hats and sunglasses are not accessories, they are equally essential for sun protection. Persons with a clear phenotype and a history of skin cancer in the family must be very vigilant for themselves and their children. As for people that have dark, tanned skin, they are not immune to the dangers of UV.
